Before moving out with the kids, I was absolutely shithouse cook whether I was following a recipe or trying to wing it. Red Rooster was often on call as an emergency back up and it got to a point that if I said I was going to cook, Drew would give me the raised eyebrow and an "Mmm, alright - I'll make sure I have Red Rooster on speed dial". NOT ANYMORE!
Fast forward to now and I consider myself to be a half decent home cook who probably still has more passion than skill, however I love it none-the-less. I have perfected my "winging it" skills and have built myself a hefty little cookbook collection. I love my healthy meals and preparing them myself, especially with the kids. I am all about a balanced lifestyle, however you will always find the most natural and healthiest options in my fridge and pantry. I am passionate about finding the healthy alternative ways to making your favourite "comfort" dishes - which is why I LOVE my cook books!
I've put together my favourite health cook books for you all - some of which have fallen apart due to overuse.
Luke Hines (@lukehinesonline)
I met Luke at an event last year and had a fangirl moment after he became my favourite on My Kitchen Rules. Not only did I get a cuddle, I also got a taste of a recipe from his book and LOVED IT - so of course I purchased the book. He has put together the best collection of recipes that are your healthy option when it comes to your favourite meals at home plus tips for those wanting to make the change to a cleaner lifestyle.
