The ultimate place to stay at Burleigh beach for the fam
Burleigh is what I consider to be heaven on earth and I don’t even need to go overseas to know that (and no, I’ve never been overseas). The chilled coastal vibes, the eating spots, the beautiful views of the coastal line wherever you go and where you’ll find a random tai-chi class to join in most days of the week (yep, I’ve done it).
It’s the place I’d head if I needed a mental health day, it always has been. Between the beautiful beach lined with Norfolk Island Pine trees, countless spots for really good cold brew coffee, walking paths for days and Burleigh hill to stop and take a moment for a big deep breath, it’s always been super special to me and what I call my “calm place”.
We recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at Vacanza Co - Burleigh Beach and honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever need to search for another place to stay when we head there in the future because as a family of 5, it was absolute perfection. If you are like us and love the type of getaway where you can park the car in the garage and leave it there for the rest of your stay (coz why would you want to leave Burleigh? I sure as shit don’t).
Located just a short walk from the beach and main streets which are flooded with everything you need from groceries, restaurants and a cheeky little shop, it’s close enough that everything feels like it’s at your doorstep but far enough away where you’ve got some peace and quiet, can hear the birds chirping and breathe it all in.
Vananza Co has 3 beautiful bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen bigger than my one at home and plenty of space to chill out as a family indoors as well as 2 pool options and a tennis court, and that’s on top of everything you already can do by being at the heart of Burleigh. Not only is there space, but it’s all immaculately put together with the most gorgeous fittings and decor (I took photos of it all for my own home inspo) coz we loved it so much.
Food wise, you’ve got a fully set up kitchen ready to go for you including an air fryer (I believe this is a life essential these days so to find this in the cupboard was sensational), you’ve also got a BBQ area downstairs in the courtyard near the pool so the kids can run around and you can do a cook up. Having cooking spaces is a big must for me when we go away as taking 5 people out for a meal adds up, so we generally use the kitchen for brekky and dinner while lunch is when we tend to head out if we do. Little add on here, our wonderful host had whipped up a delicious loaf of sourdough bread as an arrival gift so that went down a treat for our breakfasts!
If you’re looking to head out, your host has also put together the most wonderful and informative folder jam packed with things to do and places to eat and it helps that most of those places are just a hop, skip and a jump away down at the main strip.
We love our food and share plates, so for the meal we did go out for, we decided to give Local a go which has what we call a “rinky dink” pub vibe, minus the pub things like sports bar and pokies so it’s super family friendly and the food was bloody good. Max really recommends the steak tartare as he would have scooped it up with his hands and eaten it if I had let him. The kid loves some tartare.
Now seeing as I’m the type of person that loves a getaway but is normally ready to go home to be around all my things, make sure all my usual motherhood/adult tasks are done and feel organised, this was a weekend where none of us wanted to go home. It felt like a home away from home. It ticked every box of my ideal family getaway because verything was there, the place was absolutely beautiful, cosy and peaceful and of course we will absolutely be heading back to Vananza Co whenever we possibly can.
